Online data exchange on obsolescence management
Technology specialist AMSYS is showcasing its online obsolescence web portal at the Innotrans 2014 in Berlin.
AMSYS and partners Deutsche Bahn, SBB, Nürnberg urban operator VAG and Berlin operator BVG met in München recently for the first joint training session on us- ing www.obsolescence-management.net. Participants, among them purchasing managers and rolling stock fleet directors, were informed about the possibilities and advantages of the online exchange, illustrated by practical examples.
Obsolescence Web Portal Rail Training – Munich

The first training for the Obsolescence Management Web Portal was held at the Hilton Park Hotel in Munich On 30. April 2014. All four founding members were represented. The VAG transport-corporation Nuremberg, the Berlin Transport Company (BVG), the Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS) were familiarized with the newest features of the Web portal and trained in how to share obsolescence information quickly and effectively.

Introduction of a comprehensive obsolescence management according to IEC 62402
In summer 2013, the obsolescence management was first introduced at the Swiss Federal Railways in collaboration with AMSYS GmbH according to the obsolescence standard IEC 62402. All necessary processes, interfaces, trainings and complete documentations was carried out by AMSYS GmbH within just 7 months. Over $3,9 Mio. Cost avoidance realized within this timeframe.
