In our hands-on workshop, we not only shed light on the basics of obsolescence management, but also specifically address the types and effects of PCN & PDN:

 

PCN – Product Change Notice

Changes to products or processes

Examples: Material, design, production changes

Effects: Validations, adjustments, release processes

 

 

PDN – Product Discontinuance Notice

Announcement of the discontinuation of a product

Examples: Last order date, replacement item

Effects: Redesigns, failure risks, supply bottlenecks

 

The approach went beyond reactive problem-solving – from identifying the problem early to implementing sustainable solutions incorporating structured risk management, proactive measures, appropriate tools, and contractual arrangements to secure the supply chain.
