The Obsolescence Community Day 2026 in Nuremberg once again showed this week how much value comes out of real face-to-face exchange — knowledge, experience, open discussions, and a lot of practical insights coming together in one place.

– Horst Servatius showed how the Obsolescence Management Portal has become a real enabler for rail operators, making reactive obsolescence management faster and more effective. Rail Asset Management

– Sven Nuxoll demonstrated how automated availability checks remove manual effort, reduce errors, and simply make processes more reliable with clean data and transparency. Obsolescence Management

– Elco Goudkmap brought a strong perspective on how obsolescence management is shaped in practice, influenced by both internal and external drivers. Sense Of Urgency

– Christoph Trinks reminded us that data only becomes valuable when it’s interpreted correctly and combined with real customer–supplier collaboration. Collaboration

– Oliver Hoffmann gave a very clear view on the complexity of today’s data landscapes and why decisions need to stay both compliant and well-informed at the same time. Data Driven Decisions

– Andrei Gheorghe shared updates on the AMSYS LCM Client and how ongoing development is steadily improving lifecycle and obsolescence management. Lifecycle Management

– Bjoern Bartels highlighted what really makes the Digital Obsolescence Community special: open knowledge sharing and cross-industry collaboration. Community

– Terrance Biederer kept everything together throughout the day, guiding the agenda and making sure there was always space for open discussion and exchange. Knowledge Sharing

 

Beyond the presentations, one of the real highlights was the overall atmosphere – especially the ride through Nuremberg on a vintage train and the conversations that naturally happened along the way. That mix of technical depth and informal exchange is what makes this community stand out.

 

Big thanks to all speakers, participants, and partners for this day. It was genuinely great to see how openly knowledge and experience were shared, and how many good discussions came out of it.
